Company History

Raubex was founded by Koos Raubenheimer in November 1974.The first contract was awarded to it by the Free State Provincial Administration to construct a bridge over the Vetriver near Bultfontein. The Company therefore started off as a concrete structures contractor.

The developing road network required an increasing number of bridges and Raubex was there to build them.

1975 – 1986
During the next years until 1986 the Company started to diversify into road construction and crushing. In this period Raubex completed 109 projects which included 50 bridges.

Company Profile

Raubex is a construction company with a specific focus on infrastructure development that operates across all nine South African provinces and throughout southern Africa. JE ‘Koos’ Raubenheimer founded the business in Bloemfontein in 1974 and progressively developed the Company into a leader in road construction and rehabilitation and associated infrastructure development, including concrete structures.

Divisions

Roads Division

The Roads Division is a specialist in all aspects of road construction, focused on the key areas of new road construction and heavy road rehabilitation as well as road maintenance the laying of asphalt, chip and spray, surface dressing and slurry seals.

Raumix is the Materials Division of the Group with its core focus spread ove four areas namely contract crushing, production of aggregates for the commercial market, asphalt production & materials handling and beneficiation for the mining industry.

Social Responsibility
